Depart on a 2hr, 90km drive across the spectacular Crocker Range to the ecologically unique environs of Mt. Kinabalu. At Park HQ (1,540m/5,000 ft), visit the Education Centre and the Botanical Garden to see orchids, rhododendrons, ferns, pitcher-plants, kerosene trees and others. Take a jungle walk near the Park HQ and learn more about the mountain forest. Around mid-afternoon, return to KK stopping briefly at fruit stalls and a pottery centre. After lunch, transfer 40km to Park HQ. Trek through a hill forest rich in wild fruit trees and animal life, passing giant bamboos and giant plants with edible flowers to reach a jungle-canopy walkway 40m above ground. Then relax in indoor or outdoor tubs filled with hot/cold running mineral waters. Mid-afternoon, return to KK with brief stopovers at fruit stalls and a pottery centre. (Lunch)
