A one-half hour's drive from Kuching plus another half hour's walk on a plank walkway through undulating and dense rainforest is Sarawak's most endearing park. The centre is a sanctuary for orang utans rescued from captivity where they would be carefully nurtured and rehabilitated for eventual release into the jungle, their natural habitat. It is also home to some honey bears, hornbills, gibbons, eagles, storks and barking deers.
The tour includes a stopover at a pepper orchard for a close view of the pepper vines.
Feeding times at the centre - 8.30 am and 3 pm. Duration of the tour is 3 hours.
